Bio: Chevy Chase (1943-) met Lorne Michaels while waiting in line to see "Monty Python & The Holy Grail", and the two became quick friends. Though Lorne hired him to write for SNL, Chevy was more interested in performing on the show. He used the Weekend Update platform as his audition so he could say whatever he felt about the news. Chevy left SNL early in its second season, ostensibly so he could move to California to marry his girlfriend, Jacqueline Carlin. He would return often over the years to host or make surprise guest appearances, but was finally banned from hosting SNL following years of belittling cast members during his visits. His most memorable films include "Foul Play" (1978), "Caddyshack" (1980), "National Lampoon's Vacation" (1983), and "Fletch" (1985).
